At Teide’s Jewel, materials are chosen not only for how they look, but for the character they bring to each design.
I currently work primarily with freshwater pearls and 14k gold-filled findings, combining natural texture with delicate, lasting materials.
As Teide’s Jewel grows, future jewellery families may introduce new stones, colours and textures — each selected intentionally to belong within the story of the piece.
Materials chosen with intention
Freshwater Pearls
No two pearls are exactly alike.
Freshwater pearls are formed naturally, which means subtle differences in shape, surface, markings, colour and lustre are completely normal.
Rather than hiding those variations, Teide’s Jewel celebrates them as part of the character of the jewellery. The pearls in your piece may therefore differ slightly from those photographed, making every piece subtly unique.
Pearls are also comparatively soft and should be treated with a little extra care to keep their lustre and surface looking beautiful.
14k Gold-filled
Teide’s Jewel currently uses 14k gold-filled findings that are nickel, lead and cadmium free.
Gold-filled is not the same as ordinary gold plating. It is made by mechanically bonding a layer of karat gold to a base-metal core, creating a more substantial gold layer than conventional gold plating, providing great durability, to be worn and enjoyed regularly when looked after properly.
Because the findings used by Teide’s Jewel are nickel free, they are a suitable choice for most people with sensitive skin. Individual skin sensitivities vary.
Caring for your Teide’s Jewel
Put your jewellery on after applying perfume, hairspray, lotions and cosmetics, and remove it before your skincare or evening routine.
Last on, first off
After wearing, gently wipe your jewellery with a clean, soft cloth to remove oils and everyday residue.
If your pearls need a little extra cleaning, use a soft cloth very lightly dampened with water, then allow the piece to dry completely before storing.

Keep it away from water and chemicals
Remove your Teide’s Jewel pieces before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning or sleeping.
Avoid prolonged contact with water, perfume, hairspray, lotions, household cleaning products, chlorine and other chemicals.
Keep your jewellery in its box or a soft pouch when it isn't being worn, ideally separated from harder jewellery that could scratch the pearls.
Store it somewhere cool and dry, away from excessive heat and direct heat sources.
Store gently
Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, abrasive jewellery cloths or harsh chemical cleaners on your pearls.

The small differences found in natural pearls are part of what makes Teide’s Jewel special.
A ridge, subtle marking, change in shape or variation in lustre is not necessarily an imperfection — it is part of the individual character of a naturally formed pearl.
I select and match the pearls in each piece by hand, while allowing their natural character to remain visible.
